Would You Ever Not Invite Your Family Members to Thanksgiving Dinner Based Upon Political Beliefs

First off....
No one I have as a family member would stoop so low as to be a lawyer much less a Politician....

And where politics are divisive....we discuss brioche or Sourdough....apple or Pecan pie....these are the only questions that matter...there's a whole world more important than politics. Not one politician has ever washed a dish in my house or cooked a meal. Meaning they and their ideals are not relevant.

Don't fall for the trap of thinking they matter that much....they don't. You get one family, you choose your friends...and I don't eat meals with politicians....and new politicians will be here every 2 years.

My Uncle Jim voted for Kamala Harris, which I already knew he would. I still invited him over for Thanksgiving feast. But he declined.

I think he didn't want to hear from the rest of the friends, family and relative teasing him about Trump's huge victory!

His excuse was: I need to get the house clean.

Anyways, I still have friends, family and relatives over now. They will be here most of the weekend!

This year, we cooked 2 25lb turkeys and made lots of food, enough to feed ever Border Patrol that are protecting our borders - both Canadian and Mexican.

This is nuts. Family is family and sure I might not agree with some of my family matters politically but they're still my family nonetheless. That's why I always say that politics aren't everything. As long as you're a good person and are nice to me on here I'll like you even if you're a democrat or lean somewhat towards the left. Slade3200 is my favorite person on here who isn't a conservative because he knows that family and friendship should be a whole lot more important than who you vote for.

You can impose any or all the rules, but there will always be one or two jackasses in that group.
