I've always wondered...what is the difference in a White Lie and a Black Lie? Is that like white angel food and black devil's food cake?

I'll lie if it suits me to do so. It's not possible to function in any society if you're honest 100% of the time. It's self-deception to claim you're always honest. Most people just don't realize how they lie almost continuously.

In fact, you're probably doing many things when you answered you're not doing anything. Watching tv, looking at porn. Etc. But we use the lie to avoid going into our private lives with others. Just snowballs from there.

Those are some very arbitrary rules your chosen god is making up. What's such a big deal about lying? And why would your god make it so much easier for one man to not lie than another? An Emperor or Despot has no cause to lie, for him there are no consequences; his word is law and he can do as he pleases. But the poor man may have to tell a lie simply to find food and shelter.

And even if a person tells a big lie for no just cause, so what? I'll forgive you for lying to me; I would not punish you forever, so why would a supposedly all-merciful god?

I maintain that all religion is man made consequently most things in the bible would not be done by a true god. The problem is that men wrote that stuff so that others who are desperate will believe it. Take the Mormon faith....written by a convicted con man who had already served time then his golden plates which were presented to him by the angel Mormon mysteriously disappeared. That's OK....Joseph Smith and Brigham Young had nearly 100 young wives between them. Think about that!

Jesus, by saying that the devil was a murderer from the beginning and the father of lies he was referring to the story of Adam and Eve where a talking serpent, the nachash, a brazen religious deceiver, tricked Adam and Eve into defying the command of God which caused them to die in the very day that they ate of the forbidden fruit.

As in the book of Esther, deception was sanctioned by God as an honorable tactic when facing persecution and death,

This shows that perjury in the name of God, religious deception, is the subject of condemnation.

This also is what the bible says about deception,


"and with all the deception of wickedness for those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth so as to be saved. For this reason God will send upon them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie, in order that they all may be judged who did not believe the truth, but made sinfulness a deliberate choice."
2 Thessalonians 2:11,12.
