Basically, these reports may be somewhat true. As usual, Russian propaganda tools are using the tactic of half-truth. They highlight one side of the story, but are completely silent about the other one.

Of course, Ukraine won't admit that it ever hits targets inside the NPP. But it may do so. The Russians use the plant's territory as storage for weapons and a shield for their troops.

Except of that, holding the plant can serve more 'pragmatic' goals. There are opinions that Russia wants to reorganise the plant's work to make it the main source of energy for the occupied territories in the south.

Hardly, all that can be tolerated by Ukraine. A demilitarised zone should be established in and around the plant with an IAEA mission constantly working there.

There is Russian sourced video inside the NPP turbine room with rows of Russian Kamaz trucks with "V" markings parked inside. There is satellite imaging of Russian MRLS launchers parked directly between reactors 4 and 5.

They use the position to fire across the Kakhovka Reservoir at Nikopol and Marivka.

First of all, unlike the USA where the president is the commander in chief of the US military, Zelensky is NOT the commander in chief of the Ukranian military. So blaming the tactical actions of Ukraine's military on Zelensky is just plain ignorant.

Ukraine used a loitering munition in one of the parking lots against a Russian truck, but that did not pose a risk to the facility. Ukraine may have targeted the power lines that feed Crimea or Donetsk Oblast.

What Ukraine has not done, and is not doing, is attacking the plant itself. There is zero evidence to support that claim. The only damaged building at the facility is one Russia shelled back in March when they took it over.

Russian is lying about Ukraine shelling the plant, and about staging weapons there and using it to attack Ukrainian cities. That is a demonstrated by their own propaganda and commercial satellite imaging.

There have been multiple reports that Russia has tried to make employees of the plant drain the cooling ponds, and the facility's diver was severely beaten for refusing. There have also been reports that Wagner PMC's mined the plant after Russian regular forces refused to follow that order. I don't know if that is true or not, but it's not beyond Putin to stage a nuclear radiation threat to Europe.

The containment domes on the reactors can withstand a missile strike, but the spent fuel rods in the cooling ponds can pose a major radiation risk.
