The 14 year old child/mother is lucky she is not being charged with child abandonment. The safe haven law requires leaving the baby at a hospital, police station, or fire station, not a restaurant. I'm glad the girl wasn't charged since she did adhere to the spirit of the law. I suspect she was allowed to do paperwork at an official drop off place after the police tracked her down.
