Altamirano was out on bond from a previous conviction while ICE determined whether he should be deported when he killed Ronnebeck.<<

That last one made me remember an incident at a convenience store in Tucson. I had given several illegals a ride into town to catch the bus to Phoenix and then to Eloy where their jobs were waiting for them.

One of them pulled out $100US bill to pay and several people stepped in to tell him to put it away, that it's dangerous for illegals to show they have cash on them. Many of them speak English but his wasn't very good and several shoppers offered to translate.

I ended up driving them all the way to Eloy and delivering them to the farm where they work every year.

There are good decent people of all colors, languages and nationalities. We all need to remember that most whites are not racists and most Mexicans are not looking to harm anyone.

Not where I lived.

Border Patrol drove up and down my road all the time. I've even had them come up behind me when I had illegals in the car.

One group was walking down my driveway when the sheriff pulled in behind them. They sat them under a tree in my yard to wait for BP to come collect them.

It was cold and they were just about done in. Very close to total collapse. So, I fixed them chocolate coffee - hot, sweet. When I went back out, the deputy apologized, said he'd have them out of my yard asap but I told him I just wanted to give them coffee. One of them kissed my hand,

I always kept real orange juice, frozen bottled water, chocolate, boiled eggs on hand and would give them food and water when they left. We had orange and grapefruit trees and in season, I would give them fruit. They always offered to pay but I never took their money.

They're just people. By the time they made it my house, they had been walking, sometimes for weeks. There were a few times when I thought one would die in my living room. My house was air conditioned and I can't count the times when I would put them in front of a vent, add a fan and take water away when they were drinking too fast.

Needless to say, I never felt threatened by any of them.

I've evolved solidly into a .1%er. Haven't posted a link to anything in a long time and likely won't ever again.
