700 Tennessee National Guard Deployed to Kuwait as State Struggles to Rescue Storm Victims

And lets not forget, Bush was TORCHED for his response to Katrina, which was unprecedented for the time and he had blackhawks pulling people off of roofs in the lower 9th ward while they were being shot at. Yet, NOBODY is saying anything about the complete lack of response from Harris/Biden (in that order).

Double standard, anyone?

Hell, I still remember that just hours before Katrina hit, he had to call up the Governor of Louisiana and ask her if she was going to mobilize her National Guard and order evacuations, or was he going to have to do that. I long thought he really got shafted for no good damned reason.

Biloxi got hit a hell of a lot harder from Katrina than New Orleans did. But Mississippi ordered evacuations two days before it hit, and had their National Guard ready and waiting. They took advantage of the fleets of busses and trains the Government provided and used them to get their people to safety. In Louisiana, the Governor did nothing until the President had to threaten to step over her head and do it himself.

Oh, and Louisiana also had trains and busses sent there to aid in the evacuation. They all left empty because the state officials never announced that they were there so nobody knew about them. Which is only compounded by the fact that by the time they actually ordered the evacuation it was too late.
