A look back at why we're such a divided country

This nation has always been divided. Mostly it's divided by socio economic classes however there's also religions, locations, the list goes on. In essence it's a melting pot and is quite diverse which is definitely a strength.

Some people do think that it is the opposite of a "strength."

Nevertheless Obama still forced obamacare without bipartisan support
If by “forced” you mean passed the law using his massive majorities in both houses of Congress, then yeah.

But don’t pretend as if he intended to do it that way. Republicans left him no choice.

The problem with the way B. Hussein O did it , made it impossible to reform later.

After all, the GOP doesn't own the Atrocity of obamacare. Compare and contrast with Medicare passed by bipartisan majorities.

Yes, there was. For Obama to REACH ACROSS THE AISLE, and find out what the GOP wanted done, and then doing it.

Its called bipartisanship and statesmanship, and being an adult.

In what ways did Republicans try to reach across the aisle by finding out what the Democrats wanted and then doing it?

Obamacare was was not bipartisn and it did create a rift that only gotten worse over time
It was not bipartisan because Republicans walked away. Blame Obama all you want but reality is that Republicans made it that way.

When did Obama reach across the aisle at all? During his first week in office, he was trying to divide the GOP and telling them not to listen to Rush Limbaugh.

If the public rejects something the time is not right for it

It was up to Obama to reach across the aisle. McCain led the way for reaching across for the GOP.

Actually, some Republicans demonize McCain for his failure to work with Trump and banning conservatives from his funeral.

You seem to be trying to argue that Republicans were willing to work in a bipartisan way while Obama wasn't. That's a ridiculous perversion of reality.

Obama actually tried working with Republicans on healthcare reform but Republicans decided they would not work with him no matter what.

Just a little bit of history that Republicans like to forget.
Liar. Dems had a supermajority. They literally locked the GOP out, wrote the bill, passed it, Obama signed it. Not one GOP member voted for it.

It was not bipartisan because Republicans refused to participate in the process
Any wonder with Pelosi say if you want o know what is in the Bill you have to pass the bill.
