How will commerce and consumerism affect the nature and quality of our 'empirical storytelling' and 'mystical daydreams'? Will Burger King, NASDAQ, and Facebook make us cynical?

Reaganomics gave us Oliver Stone's Wall Street, so will 'Trumponomics' give us a traffic-absurdism film such as a journeyman-themed Steven Spielberg film about tourism-dissatisfaction (possibly titled The Thailand Detour)?

We don't want to think that consumerism will destroy our sense of wonder! In fact, one of my favorite consumerism-themed films is Steve Jobs.

Cheers,

When Alas (a Danish man) travelled to Thailand and visited the ancient city and saw the gold statue of the Buddha lying down, he was amazed at how figurines of sacred value could be embossed in wonderful materials. Two days later, while walking down a multicultural bazaar in Bangkok, Alas noticed a strange merchant selling a terrific chess set carved entirely out of wax. Alas asked the merchant why he didn't use ivory instead of wax (since wax melts upon heat), and the merchant explained, "Treasures are always best remembered simply as things remembered." Alas forgot all his cynicism towards eBay and instantly became a fan of 'TrumpUSA.'
