Reasonable criticisms of Trump's attempts to mislead, lie to, and outright bamboozle the public lead to the idiocy of federal agencies charged with informing the public of a clear and present danger, now advising their own scientists not to contradict his lies and attempts to gaslight the American public.
Trump's tweets caused the state agencies to be flooded with panicked calls to the state agencies about emergency supplies and shelters and their preparations for the storm. The Weather Service refuted Trump's claims to protect citizens from undue alarm and panic and to prevent mass hysteria.
Trump's White House has been in panic mode to protect the President from himself. Had Trump admitted his error and apologized like any grown up, this would have been over with in a day. Instead we have the spectacle of the White House and the National Weather Agency putting out that revised, colour coded horror supporting the President's lie,
But all of this is obscured Trump's flagrant and obvious abuse of emoluments in regard to sending Mike Pence to his golf club in Ireland, which then bills the Administration for the use of the facility for Pence's stay. Pence then incurred further expenses by commuting by jet to his event each day.
But that pales in comparison to the Administration having the armed forces refuel jets at the airport near one of Trump's golf courses in Scotland, which up until last year, was losing money bigly. The cost of refueling at this airport is considerably higher than the airport which the Pentagon had been using, which has caused an increase of $11 million dollars for refueling. Trump's property offers service men staying at the facility rooms and rounds of golf at reduced rates. Of course the Pentagon pays for those rooms too.
Congress is opening an enquiry into these abuses.
