Agency reverses course on Trump's Alabama hurricane claim (once again, Trump is right)

Not open for further replies.
The NOAA statement reaffirmed that hurricane force winds weren't expected to strike Alabama. Besides of never hearing of category 5 hurricanes, Trump also didn't understand the difference between a hurricane and a tropical storm.

The white house put pressure on somebody to say trump's statement might have been right at some point. Big deal. It wasn't right at the time he said it, and he's an idiot for not knowing that. He's even more of an idiot for doubling down on his goofy remark.

Just be thankful it did not hit one of those new seven states that Obama told us about when he lectured us on how we have fifty-seven states...

You Trump worshipers keep bringing this up, but doing so all you are doing is making your god look even worse.

Did Obama double down on the 57 states? Did he hold a press conference and show a map with new states drawn on it?

No, he addressed it the same day and admitted he had said the wrong thing.

That is what mature people do, when they make a mistake the own up to it and move on.

So the ABNORMALS get their ass kicked again as they complained about our president CHANGING his hurricane map with a Sharpie....can we now bring back TWO SCOOPS OF ICE CREAN with Trumps piece of pie?.....You ABNORMALS can't even grab a straw of truth!!!!!

A federal agency reversed course Friday on the question of whether President Donald Trump tweeted stale information about Hurricane Dorian potentially hitting Alabama, upsetting meteorologists around the country.

On Sunday, Trump had warned that Alabama, along with the Carolinas and Georgia, was “most likely to be hit (much) harder than anticipated.”

The National Weather Service in Birmingham, Alabama, tweeted in response: “Alabama will NOT see any impacts from #Dorian. We repeat, no impacts from Hurricane #Dorian will be felt across Alabama. The system will remain too far east.”

But the president has been adamant throughout the week that he was correct, and the White House has deployed government resources and staff to back him.

The latest defense came out Friday evening, when the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration issued a statement that information provided by NOAA and the National Hurricane Center to the president had demonstrated that “tropical-storm-force winds from Hurricane Dorian could impact Alabama.” The advisories were dated from last Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2019...

So if they were judged by their own standards they would all loose their jobs and face criminal charges.

Now the shit is hitting the fan with the National Weather Service, which ordered their weathermen not to contradict the President, and is defending Trump's lies.

This is what happens when an idiot is in the White House. Trump cannot be wrong ever! Every science has to bow to the Chosen one.

Trump is the laughing stock of the whole world on this.
yes NOAA went back in time and changed the track maps so not to contradict what Trump said
what a fucking idiot

That is NOT the map that Trump showed. Nothing like it. And just to be clear:

No it's not the same map. This one is arrival times of winds and the one he showed was the predicted track. Overlay them and you'll see that the path data is the same. Like I said before, I have a home and a business 5 miles off the Gulf Coast in Alabama. I watch NOAA intently and saw the graphic Mr Trump posted.
You people are just so dead set on catching the President in a lie, that you are willing to suspend logic and buy anything your plantation masters tell you to believe.
I'll tell you what I tell Conservatives who post garbage that they WANT to believe: DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH. so you don't look like an idiot. Half the time, you are fed bullshit by the subject of the controversy HOPING you will spread it and look stupid.

Actually, it's Rump trying to keep all of us from noticing all the more important things. And he's successful. Who the hell should really care. It's completely stupid. He made a mistake, can't admit to a mistake, got bagged for his mistake, and keeps trying to cover for that mistake. Meanwhile, too many people keep dwelling on this stupidity instead of bringing up all the more important items both good and bad. And Rump knows exactly what he's doing. Get off this nonsense. Here is a list of things to talk about that are much more important and there is a lot more

Opiods. Believe it or not Rump gets a plus on this one
Misuse of Military Funds
Using Military Flights for Support for his Scotish Resort
Afghanistan
Medicare
Health Care
DACA
And a hell of a lot more

Stop with this nonsense.

What you are ignoring is that by Friday they had removed Alabama from the forecast, and Trump sent out his tweet on Sunday, not only saying it was still heading towards Alabama, but that the damage there would be worse than people thought.

Yes, that was a pretty silly remark, and right wingers have enjoyed bringing it up thousands of times because there just aren't too many statements like that to be used. Trump tweets 2 or 3 statements, at least that dumb, or dumber before breakfast every day,

Trump was shown spaghetti plot maps showing possible landfall....at the time it was due to hit Florida, reemerge in the gulf and affect Alabama and Georgia, but luckily it veered north.
It was just four days after that possibility had been rejected. It is a crime to mislead people about the weather. He is an orange clown at the head of an orange clown party and it's orange clown rubes like you. All Trump does is play golf and watch fox that not too well.....
