If the male progenitor is willing to take responsibility and accept raising the child, he should have that choice. Of course, I would require the female partner to sign over all parental rights, assigning the child to the father. I've seen way too many cases where the female was the favored parent and the father was left holding the bills.

There are varying time frames on a state by state basis where the issue of when abortion is legal becomes relevant.
