My initial reaction is generally "Why didn't they lock this fuckhead up the first time he showed signs of violence?" because almost invariably there's a record somewhere.

We really need to stop being "fair", and snatch our national fate from out of the hands of defense lawyers. Enforce the laws by the numbers, and increase the penalties for any violent crime/behavior.
