What are the brick and mortar used here?

The brick looks like some kind of hollow clay ceramic, but I have no clue what the mortar is.

Those guys doing the job look like real professionals..........who knows, might be silly putty!! Already used Wrigleys gum?

For the thin brick he is using gypsum or plaster of paris, maybe simple gypsum plaster. I use same gypsum plaster used to finish sheetrock. I even let it set a bit .

The full brick boveda am not sure. I use clay/sand mortar !
