These dictators sell themselves to the people as being left wing populists, and then suppress all dissent the moment they come to power. China was a left wing dictatorship from the moment Mao took power.

It is absolutely ridiculous to continue calling these countries "communist" when none of them have ever had governments that weren't based on a one-party dictatorship. There is very little difference between left and right wing dictatorships. There's not much difference between Putin and Stalin. One is a right wing authoritarian and one is a left wing authoritarian. Stalin killed more of his own people, but atrocities at Stalin's or Mao's level is not a function left or right wing politics.

Most of the people in china hate the communist govt. Mao was the chairman of the CPC. He looked the other way while his henchmen killed his first wife. 45 million people died under this barbarian.
