ussie Smollett may sue the Chicago Police Department following the case brought against him over filing a false hate crime being dropped, one of his lawyers said Wednesday.

One of the actor’s attorneys, Tina Glandian, said the team is “weighing our options” as to whether they’ll seek damages from the city of Chicago. During an appearance on Good Morning America, Glandian cast Smollett as a victim who is trying to get his life back together.

“You’ve said clearly you think the police are not telling the truth about Jussie,” ABC’s Geoge Stephanopoulos said. “Are you going to sue?”

“We’re weighing our options now,” Glandian responded. “For Jussie, what’s important is, he really just wants his career and his life back. Again, he did not ask for any of this. He was a victim of a crime. This has completely spiraled out of control and become a political event at this point, and his goal and focus right now is just getting his life back on track.”

The validity of the suit (not to mention the intelligence of the action) are to be determined. I applaud anyone using whatever legal means are available to them...in the case of Smollett; dude should really quit while he is ahead; he got off and she should go away and let Spike Lee cast him in something in 2021 or whatever.
