Most are 5" mesh, so to use them as box traps, fish traps, seines, etc, you have to overlap several layers of the fencing . 3 layers results in a 1 1/4" mesh, which is small enough to catch larger squirrels, prairie dogs, rabbits, good sized fish, even smaller mud turtles. Use wood frames and cordage to hold the mesh in the shape/position that you need, of course.
