Since Obama and his media want to wipe the word “Benghazi” out of existence, it’s the one word they need to hear again and again and again. Obama needs to answer for what he didn’t do. Four Americans -J. Christopher Stevens, Sean Smith, Glen Doherty and Tyrone S. Woods- might be alive today if he did his actual job, which is to protect Americans. Instead, he did nothing and has been engaging in a cover up ever since.

We can’t let him get away with it.

We need to make Benghazi stick to him in a way that his media can’t control. I think one way to keep the issue of his dereliction of duty alive is to make Benghazi his middle name.

Let's make "Lebanon" Ronald Reagan's middle name and let's make it stick. Are you sure you don't just want to accuse Obama planning and executing the Benghazi attack himself like the nitwits accused GW of planning 9/11? I mean some of you seem to piss down your legs anytime someone says Benghazi.

For the past two years, House Republicans have continued to deprioritize the security forces protecting State Department personnel around the world. In fiscal year 2011, lawmakers shaved $128 million off of the administration's request for embassy security funding. House Republicans drained off even more funds in fiscal year 2012 -- cutting back on the department's request by $331 million.

Did Republicans hope an attack on Americans overseas would be successful, so they could make political points on it?

I would not put it past them.

A Google search link to a load of poorly constructed crap articles does not answer my question, but does serve to illustrate how folks often will deflect by pointing to other misinformation instead of using their own grey matter.

"It's out there in cyberland!"

Nice.

As National Park Service Director Jonathan Jarvis prepares for a grilling before House Republicans on Wednesday, he and other officials say the Park Service has had no choice but to padlock the National World War II Memorial, one of the most popular venues on the Mall. Here, they say, is why:

It doesn’t have the manpower to keep it open.

The shutdown forced the Park Service to furlough about 20,000 workers, including the 300 who work at Mall and memorial parks sites. Jarvis said his skeleton crew is working “diligently to try and ensure” that visitors are allowed to assemble at the sites and even stage a protest if they want. But that’s not enough for some war veterans, who say they might not get another chance to thoroughly explore the memorials of their choice.

WWII veterans who visit Washington aren’t the only veterans affected.

The USS Arizona site in Hawaii, which commemorates the 1941 bombing of Pearl Harbor by the Japanese, also is closed. So are the Korean and Vietnam war memorials.

There’s no money to pay employees to keep a constant eye on visitors, Jarvis said.
Congress made them do it.

The House and Senate “charged the National Park Service with the preservation and protection” of the sites, Jarvis said. He did not answer why a few rangers couldn’t be assigned to highly popular sites — especially ones for aging war veterans. Instead, he said, the workers have to protect the sites whether they’re open or not. And considering that a vandal splattered green paint on the Lincoln Memorial this summer, vigilance is a major priority, he said.

^^^^ I get it, though - the truth doesn't fit with what you want to believe, ergo the truth must be a lie.

Talk about unintended consequences, the NY Times (cover up) story about Benghazi is being laughed at by real journalists and instead of vindicating Hillary, which was clearly it's intention, it put Benghazi back on the front pages. Thank you NY Times.

Again, a dubious claim with nothing to back it up except for trash-talk.

The Benghazi Transcripts: Top Defense officials briefed Obama on ‘attack,’ not video or protest

By James Rosen • Published January 14, 2014

Minutes after the American consulate in Benghazi came under assault on Sept. 11, 2012, the nation's top civilian and uniformed defense officials -- headed for a previously scheduled Oval Office session with President Obama -- were informed that the event was a "terrorist attack," declassified documents show. The new evidence raises the question of why the top military men, one of whom was a member of the president's Cabinet, allowed him and other senior Obama administration officials to press a false narrative of the Benghazi attacks for two weeks afterward.

Gen. Carter Ham, who at the time was head of AFRICOM, the Defense Department combatant command with jurisdiction over Libya, told the House in classified testimony last year that it was him who broke the news about the unfolding situation in Benghazi to then-Defense Secretary Leon Panetta and Gen. Martin Dempsey, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The tense briefing -- in which it was already known that U.S. Ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens had been targeted and had gone missing -- occurred just before the two senior officials departed the Pentagon for their session with the commander in chief.

I was going into this today. I'm glad you keep driving this. Don't let it go. This is such crazy shit.

Like they thought they weren't going to get caught out. When WE THE PEOPLE HAVE TO BELIEVE THE LIBYAN PRESIDENT who said it was a terror attack it's a sad sad day.

What madness is this?

7 Seconds: Lawmaker's Benghazi Question Stumps Top US Officials

Feb. 4, 2014
By MIKE LEVINE

Seven seconds of total silence.

The nation's top intelligence officials have answered the question countless times over the past year and a half, but they seemed stumped during a House hearing Tuesday when a Florida congressman asked them one more time: "Can anybody at the table tell us when somebody will be held responsible for the murders in Benghazi?"

For seven seconds, Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, CIA director John Brennan, Defense Intelligence Agency director Michael Flynn, National Counterterrorism Center director Matt Olsen and FBI director James Comey sat quietly – each one seemingly waiting for one of the others to rescue them from a question for which they have no easy answer, regarding a tragedy that almost since the outset has been wrapped in political partisanship.

After the seven seconds of silence prompted by Florida Republican Rep. Jeff Miller's question, FBI director Comey leaned into the microphone.

"What I can tell you, Congressman, is that this is a top priority of the FBI," he said. "We've made progress on the matter. I'm not at liberty to talk about the details of that progress. It's a difficult investigation, but one we've invested a lot of resources in and one that we've made headway on."

It has been nearly 17 months since the Sept. 11, 2012, attack on a U.S. diplomatic facility and CIA annex in Benghazi, where U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans lost their lives. But with a series of 2014 congressional hearings and a 2016 presidential race on the horizon that could feature former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as a candidate, U.S. intelligence officials are once again facing questions on the Libyan disaster that have dogged them for months.

The OP is right. The GOP needs to make Benghazi the talking point 24/7.

You would be.

It should be called 9-11 Clinton though. His FBI dropped the ball big time. If course your willing to ignore that and drop the blame all on Bush because, after all, he was POTUS for that eight months before 9-11.

Of course you want to forget about Benghazi even though Barry boy was POTUS for four years prior to Benghazi. The buck really does stop at his desk.

Your an Obama asslicker. Of course you dont' want to acknowledge that his State Department dropped the ball big time at Benghazi. People died. Of course that doesn't bother you one little bit. I'm sure his jetting off to his fundraiser in the middle of the attack doesn't bother you one bit either.

You Blame bush for 9-11 even though he was POTUS for eight months but just can't seem to lay the blame for Benghazi at Barrys feet. Hypocrisy much??

Uh, sorry. Perhaps you didn't know. 9/11 happened when Bush was president, not Clinton. Considering this a "teaching moment". Oh, and by the way, no one at the WTC refused security. Twice.
