Baseball- Let Them Strike

Today’s top baseball players earn +$30M a year. The threshold of having baseball as the National Pastime was hit about 30 years ago with the average person being priced out of attending games. I had season tickets to the Angels in the 1980’s and noticed the trend. Businesses were quickly becoming the only season ticket holders as they could write them off as an expense. There needs to be a major reset in all of sports.

Some perspective:
In todays dollars Hank Aaron made $1,195,000 a year in 1976.

Willie Mays made $1,215,000 in 1965.

Sandy Koufax $1,130,000 in 1966.

Nolan Ryan $3,441,000 in 1980

Mickey Mantle $635,000 in 1958
i wish they would strike more so in NFL football.

I don’t give a shit. The average family of four can’t afford to even attend a game today where as it was a common location to attend.
I take my oldest son to Red Sox games all the time, and I am not overburdened with $$.
