This is a comics-adapted commerce-culture parable inspired by the films Salt and Batman Begins.

Batman and Batgirl were two idealistic vigilantes fighting crime and evil in America. They were fans of Facebook and Wall Street, but mostly, they were interested in toys and commerce and how capitalism could be construed as peaceful. Batman was dealing with the menace of the Red Hood Gang, a nefarious group of seedy bank-robbers in Gotham City. Batgirl was busy decoding the schemes of Talia al Ghul, a cunning terrorist and leader of the underworld group Leviathan (in Europe). Batman and Batgirl met some years ago, while Batman (Bruce Wayne) was working alone as a vigilante; Batgirl (Barbara Gordon) was then just a freshman in college interested in civics-related matters in democracy-governance in America.
The Red Hood Gang was planning a heist of Las Vegas (Nevada) after the shooting-spree occurred there (since such a heist would add some 'fiery flames' to the already incendiary anti-capitalism cauldron brewing in that casino-city during the commerce-biased Trump Administration!). Talia al Ghul was indeed busy scheming and wanted to plant a bomb in the Eiffel Tower in Paris (France) while her underworld group Leviathan took the Notre-Dame cathedral as 'hostage.' Batgirl definitely needed Batman's help in dealing with Talia/Leviathan, but Batman was busy worrying about the Red Hood Gang heist in Las Vegas (a heist which could prove to be devastating to American tourism).
The American movie super-star Tom Cruise (who had recently completed his futurama-vision film Edge of Tomorrow) was reading about the heroic deeds of Batman and Batgirl in the newspapers (e.g., Washington Post, NY Times, LA Times, Gotham Gazette, etc.). Cruise was dating Talia al Ghul and had no idea she was a terrorist with ties to Leviathan. Talia wanted to use Cruise's media connections to facilitate some journalism-exposure for Leviathan's raid on the Notre-Dame cathedral in Paris (on Valentine's Day 2018!). It was a fine madness(!). Fortunately, capitalism idealism would prevail (on multiple levels), and Batman and Batgirl would be able to fight evil with 'dashes of ingenuity' (and even recruit Tom Cruise as a valuable 'media-ally'). Americans were beginning to forget about the worldly horrors of 9/11.
