What is an NFL coach expected to do?

Take a great team and win championships?
Take the players you have and find a way to win?

In winning with what you have and making mediocre players winners, there is no better coach than Tom Coughlin

Proof?

1. 1996- second year of expansion Jacksonville Jaguars and took them to the AFC Championship. A freak'n expansion team of rejects and rookies and Coughlin is a win away from the Superbowl. Brought the Jags to the AFC championship again three years later

2. No Hall of Fame Coach has ever beaten a 14-2 or better team. Coughlin has beaten the 15-1 Green Bay Packers and 18-0 New England Patriots in winning championships. It will never be matched

3. Coughlin has won championships with 10-6 and 9-7 New York Giant teams. The ultimate in overachieving. What is coaching but taking what you got and finding a way to win big games? Nobody better than Coughlin

Now, I might concede that Bill Belichick is a better coach with three Superbowl wins and five AFC championships except for the fact that Coughlin OWNS Belichick. Belichick with five SuperBowls and an undefeated season would be considered the greatest coach of all time except for one thing.......Tom Coughlin

Whichever Shanahan ends up coaching the Redskins for their upcoming 6 championships will be known as the best coach in football

your talking as though RG 3 will be as good as new this year.:lol:oh and your doing the rightwinger troll thing, ignoring that it was Elway that made him into a a great coach, that after he lost elway,he was exposed for the not so great coach he is.:lol:

you and agent rightwinger should get together for some drinks sometime.rightwingwer always trolls saying belecheck is one of the greatest coachs ever ignoring that it was tom brady that resurrected his career, that he was a complete failure and a major ZERO in cleveland before when he did not have tom brady for his quarterback.

He tne gets desperate and grasps at straws saying Belecheck is a great coach cause of that ONE fluke year the patriots had a winning season when brady was out for the year with an injury and had matt castle as the starting quarterback.then when you try to explain it to him that to his warped logic he has, that if you use THAT logic, then you automatically have to say that Todd Haley is one of the greatest coaches ever as well since the chiefs went 10-6 in castles second year with them and made the pro bowl. he cant have it both ways,if Belecheck is a great coach cause of that fluke year the patriots went 11-5 with castle at quarterback, then Haley is a great coach as well then.thats his logic.

He cant accept facts that it was just a fluke year the patriots had with Castle at quarterback that season and that it was a fluke year as well the year the chiefs went 10-6 with castel at quaterback also .

that neither coach is any good.:lol:Haley OR Belecheck.

Same with Shannahan.him and Belecheack are hardly great coachs without a future hall of famer QB. again, one flucke year with castle at QB doesnt make belecheck a great coach agent rightwinger because AGAIN,aaccording to that warped logic, thenTood Haley is ALSO one of the greatest coachs ever because of of what castle did that year with them.
