Demanding the immediate release of documents pertaining to “credible allegations” of “improper collusion by the Biden White House and Department of Justice (DOJ) in the sham political show trial of President Trump conducted by Alvin Bragg, the New York County District Attorney’s Office, and Judge Juan Merchan,” America First Legal is suing the Department of Justice.

The principal target of the allegations of cooperation between the Biden Administration and Bragg’s office is Matthew Colangelo, a senior Biden DOJ official who joined Bragg’s team as a prosecutor after leaving the department. Before accepting a low-level position as a prosecutor in Bragg’s office, Colangelo was the Department of Justice’s third-highest ranking officer official.
“Today, AFL sued the DOJ to compel the immediate release of previously requested records regarding Matthew Colangelo, a key figure in the partisan and politically-motivated prosecution of President Trump in Manhattan,” America First Legal wrote in a press release.
The legal team filed many more Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests for correspondence regarding Colangelo’s hiring in addition to the lawsuit. The group is requesting contact between Colangelo and the following parties: Jay Bratt, David Harbach, Special Counsel Jack Smith, the Office of the New York County District Attorney, and Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW).

“The United States Department of Justice’s job is to check an unscrupulous local prosecutor’s abuse of authority, not facilitate it. But there are troubling indications that political partisans within the Department actively helped lay the foundation for and advance the New York District Attorney’s sham show trial of President Trump,” said America First Legal Senior Vice President Reed. D. Rubinstein when announcing the lawsuit.

It is in instances like this that a defect in the Constitution becomes glaring: There are no means or process provided in the Constitution for the SCOTUS or the Congress to physically enforce a judgment against the Executive.Even if a President were impeached and removed, there are no means to enforce judgment if the Military still follows Presidential orders.
Unfortunately, the constitution is only adequate and effective in a moral nation with a news media that does their job. We have neither of these.
Since when does a top DOJ prosecutor “quit” the DOJ to join a single case in a local prosecutors office? If you quit the DOJ you get a $2000 per hour billing rate at a white shoe defense firm. Or something similar. You don’t go down to a local prosecutor’s office after rising that high in your career. Unless of course, you’re being run or bribed or promised something much bigger.
An anology would be a star Triple 'A' pitcher volunteering to give up a sweet pro-baseball contract and go nack to pitch Double "A" ball.
It does not add up to logic.

And when Goetz asked Garland for those communications between the DOJ and Letitia James, Fani Willis, and Alvin Bragg, Garland said those entities are independent agencies.

But Goetz [properly] shot back, saying he didn't ask for information from any source other than the DOJ itself, which Congress has oversight over.

Notice that Garland did not deny any such communications had taken place.

Kinda setting the tone and direction of this OP and the accompanying link we read: " the sham political show trial of President Trump conducted by Alvin Bragg"

"Sham show trial"?

After two grand juries agreed crimes had been committed; after a thoroughly vetted jury of citizens winnowed by studied and experienced voire dire; after a tolerant magistrate allowed remarkable freedoms and disrespectful demeanor by the defendant; and after 6 weeks of testimony tested by competent defense.....well, some partisan publications (i.e. bankrupt Gateway Pundit; Republic Brief) think they know enough about law and adjudications to call it a 'sham show trial'.

Count me skeptical.

Count me convinced it is simply the shrilling of RWNJ-media pandering to those fringie American citizens who live a ne'er-do-well life of grievance-filled unrest. So a sliver of American media sees a demographic that will buy their click-bait, and MAGA-merch.....thus they market their publications so to mine that sad pocket of unhappiness.

This right here is all anyone needs to know....Nobody in the fed .gov takes a step down like that unless they had been forced to resign or ordered to. I'd be curious to see his paycheck trail.
