The latest survey from Gallup, released last week, found that 57 percent of Americans approved of Biden's job as commander in chief. Forty percent of those polled disapproved and 3 percent had no opinion.​

The findings far exceeded those calculated at the 100-day mark of Donald Trump's presidency. At that point in 2017, Trump had a 41 percent approval rating.​

In fact, Trump never eclipsed 50 percent in Gallup's approval rating tracker. His highest level of support was 49 percent approval, all of which were recorded in 2020. His lowest point was 34 percent job approval in January 2021, shortly after the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.​

Besides, claiming Joe’s popular with people who think a t shirt over their face keeps them safe from a deadly virus is nothing to boast about.

Biden gave a State of the Union without calling people names, attacking the other party, blaming his predecessors, creating his own facts.
What a welcome change

Indeed, it was refreshing to see one of our Presidents NOT do all of that. Morning in America.

I was also struck by one small remark he made as he exited the chamber. I don't know who he addressed with his comment, but it was this: "How is your Mom doing?"

That's a welcome change away from narcissisms and self-centered boasting that we saw way too much of in the last 5 years. IMHO

he didn't call out the despicable Republicans for their harm on the country.

Notably so.

In fact, Joe Biden gave the GOP credit where they hadn't earned it. "Thanks to ALL of you"

Another: " with the overwhelming support of the American people — Democrats, independents and Republicans — we did act together. We passed the American Rescue Plan, one of the most consequential rescue packages in American history.”

The GOP did not help.

However, I will give Joe high marks for speaking the language of diplomacy and in this milieu, 'bi-partisanship'.

His experience from a decades long career in Congress showed ..... to his and America's advantage last night. He signaled that he is willing to share credit.....so step towards the deal-making table, and we together can pass meaningful legislation that helps America, and you will get equitable billing for your efforts.

Rather than divide us, Joe was saying we all had a spot inside the tent. And we all can contribute to keeping America great.
