DA hoping to charge officer who shot naked Moncks Corner man in GA
The hits keep coming. Dekalb, GA. A butt naked man was banging on apartment doors. They called police. When officer arrives...the naked man charges the cop aggressively. Cop yells twice to stop....he refuses....the cop fires. Man is stopped.
A grand jury saw the case. They did not indict him.
NOW? The black DA is going to indict him for murder. He said "Justified or not....justice requires this."
In hindsight....the suspect is an Afghan war vet with severe mental illness he had claimed was from war. Assume he had a lot of combat training. Probably much more than the cop.
The new normal. Some will say it should be like this. You shoot someone on duty? You must be charged and let a jury decide your fate.
All police should take note of that and adjust your work habits accordingly. Never show up without at least 3 officers. If you don't have it.....fine....the call will go unanswered until you do.
