California Has A Solution For The Inflation Problem -

Not the worst idea in the world. However, people are going to be pretty PO'd if they can't do anything on their extra day off because everywhere is closed. Cool when your work is closed. Un cool when the places you want to go on that day are closed too. They are effectively creating a system wide Blue Law.

The counter is employees have to hire more people to fill in those missing hours. So nothing will be closed because there is a 32 hour work week, they will have to hire more people is all. Which will cost companies even more money. A company doesn't pay wages and that's where their expense ends. Every single employee costs money in insurance, training, uniforms, paying someone to process their payroll, everytime they flush a toilet or use toilet paper that costs money, electric they use, supplies they use and so on. Employees are a companies number 1 expense and the more you have the more you pay for them.

And it's not the worst idea in the world but it's also still a terrible one. The back swing of it will be people will start demanding more money because they are working less hours. They won't want to extra, they will want to be given extra. Even if you drop a work week to 1 hour they won't work extra, they will want to be paid 1000 dollars an hour.

No problem. The wealthy billionaires in Hollywood and the rest of the "woke" wealthy left won't be affected (effected?).

I mean don't forget. Stephen colbert said he doesn't mind paying 15 dollars gallon for gas cause he drives a Tesla.

Don't know how long before the leftwing middle will see their absurdity and I honestly believe the left wing middle class are the dumbest people to ever walk the planet.

They are also cutting your pay by 20% at the same time inflation is over 8%.

Wake up dumbasses. This is nothing more than smoke and mirrors. Decrease the hours of the employed and give those hours to others and then say "look, we have lowered unemployment"....
Not rocket science.

Some will game the system, others will not. In a university town I used to live in, pretty much every bank kept very short week day hours so they could be open 7 am to 7 pm on saturday and keep it within a 40 hour work week. It was great on Saturday, but on M-F if you didn't make it to the bank by 3, you were SOL.

decrease everyone's paycheck from 40 hours per week to 32 hours per week, which effectively cuts Californian's pay by 20% as inflation hits over 8%. Stupid is as stupid does.

Actually its worse than that the bill actually requires that pay doesn;t decrease so employers will be paying more for less work

Employers subject to the law also would be barred from reducing workers' pay because they are working less

It is a terrible idea when people making an hourly wage have their pay cut by 20%.

They will not be able to go anywhere because they will not be able to afford to go anywhere

Not to mention the eight hours pay that they won't have to spend on the increased prices. How's that $15/hr minimum wage working for you.
