Trudeau is blaming climate change for the wildfires.

It's hard to tie any specific event to climate change, but the science suggests that climate change is likely intensifying things like wildfire. That arboreal zones in Canada and Siberia are some of the largest forests in the world and they're increasingly susceptible to large, uncontrolled fires. They are also significant carbon sinks, so if we lose those, we can count on more global warming feedbacks.
