I've been saying Castro will become Hillary's choice as her running mate come 2016. This almost feels orchestrated. Like him or not, this definitely would put Castro's name in the spotlight to give him better name recognition nationally.

Julian Castro To Be Offered Obama Cabinet Post, Reports Say

A year-and-a-half after he entered the national spotlight on the Democratic Party's biggest stage, San Antonio, Texas Mayor Julian Castro is reportedly in line for a bigger role in Washington.

The San Antonio Express News reported Saturday that Castro has been contacted about a cabinet post in President Barack Obama's administration, and Castro has signaled willingness to accept it. A separate source told KSAT-TV that the cabinet spot under consideration is currently filled. Both outlets reported that the FBI is beginning a background vetting process.

The 39-year-old Castro has served as mayor of San Antonio since May 2009. Back in September 2012, Obama chose Castro to deliver the keynote speech at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C.

Castro did not mince words with his opportunity, arguing that GOP candidate Mitt Romney's policies would "dismantle" the middle class.

OBAMA OFFERS JULIAN CASTRO CABINET POSITION TO GROOM HIM FOR 2016?

President Barack Obama may have offered San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro a cabinet position in his administration, potentially grooming him to become Hillary Clinton's vice presidential nominee should she run and win the 2016 nomination.

Obama Offers Julian Castro Cabinet Position to Groom Him for 2016?

If Castro is to be Hillary's choice, Castro almost has to accept this position.

Hmm, mayor of San ANtonio. First Hispanic whatever. Appointed to HUD.
Are we talking about Henry Cisneros, forced to resign in a juicy scandal?

Or maybe they know he has no future in Texas politics?

You assume women will vote for someone because they're a woman and Latinos will vote for someone because they're Latino.

You know what that sounds like to me?

It's Dem thinking. All blacks vote the same way because they all think the same way. All women vote the same way because they all think the same way. All Hispanics, ditto. Anyone who doesn't is obviously mentally ill and a freak and can be ridiculed at will.
It's how they roll.

Uhh..yes he does, he was re-elected in 2013 with 67% of the vote. He's 37 years old and very popular, he could keep being the mayor there for decades.

Yes, he did well in an urban Democratic enclave whose politics don't match the rest of the state as a whole.

In any case, I was playing Devil's Advocate. I wasn't stating conclusively he couldn't go onto bigger and better things in Texas just offering an alternative explanation for his appointment to D.C.

You can't oppose a black conservative around here without getting called a racist. Why do you suppose that is?

It's Democratic thinking? So you really think, in 2008, a hypothetical Joe Palin, obscure governor from Alaska, would have made it onto the McCain ticket?

lol

Because when conservatives oppose a black liberal they get called racist. That's why. We're just exposing the gross hypocrisy of the Left.

Of course not.....and nobody is talking ALL women or ALL Hispanics

But Democrats received 73% of the Hispanic vote and 55% of the women's vote in 2012. Run the Hillary/Castro ticket and you will get more women and more Hispanics to show up at the polls. You also bump those percentages 2-5%

Numbers are not adding up for Republicans in 2016

thats only when we use the liberal standard that name calling equals racist. And since liberals cant do anything but name call black conservatives, it means thehre racist.

now if you agree with me, that name calling and racism are two different animals, then we can have a different discussion

Julian Castro: A Radical Revealed

Their mother, Rosie helped found a radical, anti-white, socialist Chicano party called La Raza Unida (literally “The Race United”) that sought to create a separate country—Aztlan—in the Southwest.
Today she helps manage her sons’ political careers, after a storied career of her own as a community activist and a stint as San Antonio Housing Authority ombudsman.
Far from denouncing his mother’s controversial politics, Castro sees them as his inspiration. As a student at Stanford Castro penned an essay for Writing for Change: A Community Reader (1994) in which he praised his mother’s accomplishments and cited them as an inspiration for his own future political involvement.

Certainly fits with the white hating racist candidates of Obama's administration no?

The fear mongering begins

He's a racist, rightwinger. What else can be said? You seriously want a anti white racist in another political office? I mean he is joining a man that went to a racist church for 20 years so it certainly fits...

Sure he is...so is Obama

Don't you guys ever tire of playing the same losing hand?

Yeah, because when the conservatives criticize Obama you don't accuse them of the same? That's a rich accusation coming from an Obamabot. Look up the word hypocrisy.

Democrats have always received a large majority of the Hispanic vote; Bush 43 was an anomaly. As for women, Democrats have traditionally faired better with that group than Republicans. Hell, more women voted for Clinton despite the fact he was a known misogynistic pig. In fact, you people still worship the ground he walks on while accusing the Republicans of having a "war" on women.

You're not pointing out anything new.
