Please come work as a police officer in Minneapolis where our politicians are actively telling our citizens to hate you!
I’m sure they’ll get top quality candidates.

Minneapolis is planning to spend $6.4 million to hire dozens of police officers, at a time when some City Council members and activist groups have been advocating to replace the police department following George Floyd’s death.

The City Council voted unanimously Friday to approve the additional funding that police requested. The department says it only has 638 officers available to work — roughly 200 fewer than usual. An unprecedented number of officers quit or went on extended medical leave after Floyd’s death and the unrest that followed, which included the burning of a police precinct.

I agree I wouldn't want to be a cop there. I also don't understand those that say it was ok to hit the policemen at the capitol on Jan 6th. Want it both ways I guess. Extremists....

After Biden’s executive orders there should be lots of layoffs, so plenty of candidates and they’d be happy with minimum wage.

They forgot to add a zero or two in their funding offer.

“Since the unjustified and unfortunate death of George Floyd, the city council has engaged in rhetoric that has emboldened criminals, the proof of which is in the unprecedented spike in crime,” said George Saad of southwest Minneapolis, describing himself as an immigrant and a “child of war” who came to the city because of its rich diversity. But now, Saad said, he feels terrorized in his own community, afraid to walk down the street.

“You guys have had years to address any culture problems within the Minneapolis Police Department,” he said. “You have failed to do so. Instead, you embark on a campaign against your own police department, fighting and demonizing an entire internal city organization instead of making it better.”

Emboldening criminals by rhetoric that that attacks your own police force is like pouring gasoline on a smoldering fire, it makes the end result far worse than the present situation. Just like there are stupid cops, there are stupid politicians. Blaming an entire force for the actions of a few is incredibly dumb, and unfair to the police, who have to deal with the result of these dumb decisions and loaded language used by politicians, in the same way the Capitol cops had to deal with Trumpists on January 6th.

Poor civilian leadership is also to blame. Time to start cracking heads if you want to get crime under control.

The cities are Prog. The police departments are prog dominated. The unions are prog. The schools are prog. The politicians are prog. The employees are prog and hired by diversity, quotas and political correctness. For decades. .....The costs to the taxpayers is exorbitant because of it. A percentage of the employees do their work much better then others. The pressures are immense even though there are people who like to work in the busier areas. The problems existed but the riots were done because of the 2020 election....let them kill each other now.

With all due respect, assuming that municipal elections are not rigged, the people of Minneapolis elected those liberal council members who are responsible for the orgy of violent crime.

So we should not have any sympathy for those voters. They made their bed and should now lie in it.

This is a guaranteed way to get the lowest quality candidates.

Pretty soon they will only be able to hire corrupt and criminal ghetto thugs.

The left destroys everything they touch
