What if there was a group of religious zealots who thought homosexuality was a deep sin. Let's call this group "Muslims". The government then says that Muslims must allow gays at there ceremonies. They are practicing a religion in a public forum because there mosque is centered right next to a business. Now they have to let gays in. Now some homosexual wants to get married at a mosque under his new faith. The government can force them to perform the ritual. Should the government be able to force people to do something that these Muslims find deeply offensive?

Being next door to a business doesn't make it a public forum. Are you really that dumb?

LOL.....

Mosques/churches/temples can discriminate however they want- they can exclude women, blacks, gays- whatever. They can refuse to marry anyone that they want to.

Business's have to comply with business law- and that includes public accommodation laws- regardless of whether or not the business is owned by religious zealots. If the business's service is marriage- then that business is has to comply with public accommodation laws- and cannot refuse to marry someone because they are Jewish or black- and in some states- because they are gay.

"Could the govt force you to do something that you thought was immoral?"

Wrong question.

Correct question: “May citizens use religious dogma, subjective moral perceptions, and personal beliefs to ignore or violate just and proper laws?”

And the answer is 'no.'

Case law in support: Employment Division v. Smith (1990), City of Boerne v. Flores (1997)

Are you saying that if some German thought that a law to find the nearest Jew and escort him to the authorities should be obeyed?

A law that prevents you from pissing on a lawn (I know you have done that before) is preventing you from practice your religion. I was talking about a law that could force you to do something you thought was immoral such as weekly urination on someone's lawn. Could the government force me to urinate on your lawn?

Hell, the feds can take your property against your will ( they call it eminent domain) and tax all of us for things we may never use, need or approve of. Since when was morality an issue with the Feds? What can I say to this?

If you think war is immoral are you then exempt from the portion of your federal taxes that pays for it?

Could the government force you to pay income taxes even if your 'deeply held religious belief' says that income taxes are immoral?

Yes they can.

Can the government force you to get a blood transfusion for your child who will die without a blood transfussion, even if your deeply held religious belief is that it is God's will if your child dies?

Yes they can.

What if the government forced you to turn in a run away slave? The federal government actually had a law that did exactly this. Would you agree with it.

I believe there are exceptions to the draft such as being a member of particular religions. I believe it is called conscientious observer.

What if the government told you that you could not allow your baby to die just because you believe that is what your God wants? God fearing people have done exactly that- would you agree with them?

Gays have the right to be married in ALL states now. Only religious organizations can still discriminate against them.

Christian Scientists have been charged with manslaughter for allowing their sick children to die without medical care.

But according to Super- thats okay- because the government should not interfere with a 'deeply held religious belief'
