It's time for you in the Democrat base to: wake up and look what your party is doing

Snip:

For a Beltway-based media complex that routinely and lazily advances stories focused on the GOP’s supposed extremism, it’s going to be exceedingly difficult for many in the press to understand the course upon which Democrats have embarked. As a result of this confusion, only the expressly political press has elected to cover the rapidly unfolding debacle surrounding an anti-human trafficking bill.

On Tuesday, Senate Democrats are expected to attempt to block the Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act, despite the fact that 13 Democratic members co-sponsored the bill. Their objections are centered on the fact that the bill contains language that expands the Hyde Amendment – a measure that prohibits spending taxpayer funds on abortions.

all of it here:

Democrats object to language in the bill that if you are captured and used as a sex slave and become pregnant.......you have to pay for your own abortion

Serves you right bitch, must not have been a legitimate rape

When will the Republican Congress get some work done? Why are they holding Lynch hostage to their legislation? I hope the Democrats stand firm against this tactic.

The best part is the more they delay Lynch, the longer they get Holder

Too funny

How funny. this thread is about Democrats and it is instantly turned onto Republicans and they even threw Todd Akin in there

Serves you right bitch!

Why does that even have to be in there?
Can't any reference to pregnancy and abortion be removed to avoid this issue from holding up the rest of the bill?

The dems have them by the shorthairs. If they continue to do this indefinitely, at some point it becomes an issue that voters will notice. Telling victims of sex trafficking that fine money cannot pay for abortions of those who were abused is not a winning hand. However, if they cave, then the "pro life" groups will be angered. And, the gop put itself in this position without any help from the dems.

You'd think so right? Let's ask the fuming republicans.

It wasn't originally when it was a bipartisan bill

Republicans had to slip it in there to pander to their base

Telling victims they cannot use the fine money for abortions caused by rapist jihadis is a stand we GOP want to take? Really?

We cannot win the presidency with the far right alone, but we can with more women and minorities.

Well maybe if there was a direct agreement between liberals and conservative party members and leaders among Democrats and Republicans, this would not have to keep affecting other bills like this. I do think we need a Constitutional ethics
commission to resolve ongoing conflicts and form agreements so this doesn't keep happening -- with other issues of law also.

Lynch is no better she is extremely anti gun so longer she is held up the better.

I love it

Holder should stop acting like a lame duck and kick up gun prosecutions
Watch how quickly Republicans confirm Lynch
