Yet, another Colorado Dem puts their foot in their mouth. The Democrats in Colorado are seriously overplaying their hand with this gun control nonsense. They are setting themselves up for a major slaughter in 2014.

While debating a gun control measure in the Colorado Senate Friday, Democratic State Sen. Mary Hodge urged fellow lawmakers to reject an amendment that would let veterans, existing military members and their families own high-capacity magazines by arguing that “some" return "with significant mental health problems,” Twitchy reported Saturday.

"Yes," she said, "these are all great and wonderful people, but some of them come back with significant mental health problems and I think we need to check through that first."

Republican Kent Lambert, the senator who introduced the amendment, engaged Hodge in a short debate on the amendment, responding to her attack on veterans returning from combat and arguing that current law already address those with mental illness.

"Mr. Chair, I really object to this stereotypical viewpoint that all military veterans, that all military returnees have mental health problems," he said.

"Of course our active duty military people suffer from traumas of war," he added. "They have since the Civil War. They’ve gone through battle fatigue. They’ve gone through soldier’s disease, in the Civil War is what they called it."

It's called "emigration from California." Colorado has become more and more blue over the last 15 years, a lot from Californicators not content with fucking up their own state.

Here are some things that the liberal gun-control freaks are too stupid to fathom:

Taking weapons from the general public leaves the general public more likely to confronted by armed criminals. Legislating limitations on access to weapons cannot be expected to control the criminal element of society. It will disarm only those people who have absolutely no intention of using a weapon to commit a crime. It will disarm only those people that sometimes find it necessary to defend themselves and their families against armed criminals. This is NOT in the best interest of the average citizen.

Guns are inanimate tools of man, just as is the knife, the sword, the baseball bat, the tire iron, the fireplace poker, the axe handle, the hammer, the machete, the pool cue, the scissors, the skillet, the 2x4, the brick, the No. 2 pencil...and whatever else can be used as a weapon. The list goes on. Bats are used more often in domestic violence than are guns. We don't have a problem that will disappear after the banning of guns or after the confiscation of all handguns. WE HAVE A PEOPLE PROBLEM! WE HAVE A PROBLEM WITH ANGER AND MALICE!

Denying weapons to citizens in general based on the occasional mental case emerging from their midst using one is sheer stupidity!
