Dems Fla dreams crushed

Imagine celebrating voter suppression of fellow Americans. This is your Cult45 party. This is the only path to their survival come November. Pathetic. They have no policy, no principles and just take their cues from an uneducated, fat Orange narcissist.

Best of luck to them. :113:

They cain't vote.
Reading not really your thing, eh?

The cannot vote UNLESS they pay their fines and probation/court costs...if they do..they can vote.

From your OP:

A federal appeals court dominated by President Donald Trump's nominees ruled Friday that hundreds of thousands of Florida felons who have completed their sentences cannot vote this fall or in the future unless they pay fees and fines owed to the state.

The legal battle stems from a constitutional amendment passed by Florida voters in 2018 that allows most felons to vote after their sentences are complete. Those convicted of murder or a felony sexual offense are not included.

In response, the Republican-controlled state Legislature passed and Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a law requiring that felons first pay all of their financial obligations.
There are about 775,000 felons in the state who have completed their prison sentences, including parole or probation. So far, at least 85,000 have registered to vote but must be screened for eligibility, based on the financial requirements.
Have you paid yours?

Only a Yes or No answer required.......

No need to pontificate.
Another 'beat your wife question', eh? Stoopid...No need to pontificate....and in your case..it would be downright painful to read..LOL!

Thanks, but I don't think we'll need it.

You see, we don't want a President that's going to drastically increase taxes and regulations on our job creators. We're going to need them in the near future more than ever. We don't want to see our fuel costs double or more because they got rid of fracking. We don't want to see our nice neighborhoods destroyed because of social experiments like putting high-crime lowlifes into those nice areas, and cutting our property value in half. We built these communities for our own standards, not theirs.

So basically, the felons can't vote.
Nope..so basically....the ex-felons can vote.,...once they pay their financial bills to the state. Most do, you know--the state sees to it! It would appear..that some think that 85,000 votes might make a diff? That's how many are registered.
So if they go rob a few banks then they can vote well goody libber.
LOL! I don't live in Florida...but I'd support the some sort of thing for firearms, as well.
But the point is..the premise as stated that Ex-Felons can't vote in Florida..is false.

i know a lot of ex-felons that skew Far-Right..maybe you guys are missing a bet?

I seriously doubt many far right people end up in prison. What do you mean you'd support it for firearms? If you have a firearms violation, you are a felon and the same rules apply.

No big deal. I still say it comes down to Pennsylvania and Ohio. If either candidate gains both they won the election. If they split then it comes down to 2 out of 3 among Arizona, Michigan and Wisconsin.

The last polls I seen here in Ohio has Trump ahead, but I don't really rely on polls that much. In politics, anything can change overnight.

I know some ex-cons and they don't have the money to pay fines. Some of them can be pretty steep. Unless you have a skill where you can open up your own business which I'm sure most ex-cons don't, you have a really tough time getting a job, and when you finally do, it's a very low paying one.

Many ex-cons are conservative. The reason is many think they got what they deserved. Out of 85,000 ex-felons in Florida I would estimate the split between Democrats and Republicans are 55% to 45%. In Florida possibly enough to turn a state election if they were to vote, which is far from a sure thing.

I mean i would support the restoration of 2nd amendment rights for ex-felons who have served their time and paid their fines.

I don't know about that one. I'm as pro-gun as they get, but I would be hesitant to allow somebody who held up a convenient store with a gun to be allowed to get another gun once out of prison. That would kind of be like allowing a teacher that got out of prison for sexual assault of a minor to get another job in a school teaching.

If you keep getting people who are not the best voting in not the best, we will be 2nd and 3rd world nation in status. Part of us are already. Its almost like you are wishing this to happen. Your view is we must have a Prog in office or else.

It's a poll tax and should be taken to the supreme court.

It's fucking illegal to force someone to pay before they can vote

In Florida where the felon white collar cocaine alcoholic on their yahcts? Yes there are many right wing felons in Florida.

I think you're wrong, especially given the fact per capita, there are a lot more black prisoners than white. We both know how blacks have voted the last several decades. Then I found this:

Newsweek is a really crummy site that won't let me copy/ paste, but it says that in a 2016 study, they found white inmates to be 40% Republican, and the rest were Democrats or unaffiliated voters. However for blacks, they are 87% Democrat. All things considered, our prisons are loaded with Democrats:

Not to mention the amendment that was passed had noting about restitution to the state. The legislature added that after it was passed by the citizens, at the insistence of DeSantis.

How is it illegal to have them pay all their debts to society before being allowed to vote, but it's okay to not let them vote at all in many states?

I can't find any study specifically about Florida, but my Newsweek article claims that no matter what political affiliation, ex-cons tend to not vote at all even if allowed to.
