War always brings this kind of hooliganism out in people. Even one of mankind's most famous structures, the Sphinx, fell victim to it thousands of years ago. And let's not forget how "our ally, Saudi Arabia" destroyed an over 1,000-year-old building and paved over a graveyard to make room for a hotel catering exclusively to foreign tourists, and how "our ally, Israel" wants to demolish an ancient mosque in Jerusalem. It seems as if that entire region is incapable of respecting historical sites.

But out of curiosity, do you ever post anything that isn't some gloom and doom news story about death and destruction in the Middle East?
