Zone1 Do those who don't believe in hell surmise that somehow their belief alone will prevent them from that fate (if warranted)?

If there is no after life, then man is truly just an animal and no better.

But scripture says man was special and made in the image of God as he breathed his spirit into him, separating man from the animal kingdom.

If not, then nothing matters in life as Leftists herd us around like animals and treat us how they wish with zero consequences. All of Hitler's problems ended when he pulled that trigger..............................................

NOT!!

Either that or there is no real justice, hence no God of justice.
Why are you so arrogant that you have to believe you better?

we share more than 98% of out DNA with chimpanzees so we really aren't that different.

Our brains are made up of the same stuff that all mammalian brains are made of.

And why does anything have to have a purpose defined by some other entity?

Why can't you define your own purpose?

Arrogant? It could be arrogance, but it's not.

The simple fact of the matter is, human life should be protected over animal life, or even vegetation, unless you disagree and have starved yourself since birth because you don't deserve to live off the death of your equals.

Now when the church persecuted people like Copernicus for suggesting that the universe does not rotate around the earth because they believed man was the focus of creation, that was arrogance. The Bible does not say that the universe rotates around the Earth, but they interpreted it that way because of their pride. In reality, however, knowing what we know today, that the earth is the smallest of specks in the universe, it SHOULD generate humility, which is what God hopes we will figure out from all this because God compared to creation is nothing in comparison to God.

But no, that was too much to ask from sinful man.

In comparison, Jesus was said to have been lowered in stature to take on the role of a man when he was born. He then proceeded to serve man, even though he was far more important in every respect, yet he showed humility and love instead of arrogance.

So as we can see, just because you may be better than something or someone else in certain ways does not mandate you be arrogant when it's simply stating a fact.

I think, therefore I am. If one wishes there is not consequences in the Afterlife, maybe the thought alone will be enough to prevent one from a horrible outcome after expiring in this world.

Okay, 2 different things in play here. One may believe as I do that Dante's Hell does not exist, but also that there is an Afterlife where such a thing as Karma forces you to return sooner or later in another life to pay for your transgressions in this one. There ARE consequences IMHO, but I believe that each of us has a choice of reincarnation to restore the balance of justice vs injustice. If you choose not to come back then maybe you would be in a hell of your own making that you could exit whenever you want, but you still gotta pay your bill so to speak.

... because you don't deserve to live off the death of your equals.

tell all how you kicked their ass and they worship you so. christian.

That assumption sounds awfully arrogant to me.
You assuming your religion is the one true religion is arrogant.

There is no way to know.

The Jews think their religion is the truth, so do the Muslims

For all you know you made the wrong choice.

Hell?

Hell is the abomination of desolation. Travelling through eternity, by yourself, through an empty void.

You would much rather be dead.
