NABLUS (Ma'an) -- "Israeli settlers and soldiers attacked Palestinian villagers south of Nablus on Saturday afternoon, leading to dozens of Palestinian casualties from excessive tear gas.Clashes broke out in the village of Burin after settlers attacked Palestinian locals in the village's eastern neighborhood, said Ghassan Daghlas, a Palestinian Authority official who monitors settlement activities in the northern West Bank.Israeli forces subsequently joined the clashes on the side of the settlers, launching tear gas and stun grenades at Palestinians and their homes.Dozens of Palestinians suffered from excessive tear gas inhalation during the course of the clashes, Daghlas added.*An Israeli army spokeswoman said that Palestinians "approached Givat Ronen," and Israeli forces "prevented them from crossing" into the settlement using "riot dispersal means.""

There are more than 500,000 Israeli illegal settlers who live in settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, in complete contravention of international law.
