This is the NFL covering their asses and doing everything they can do avoid any political issues during their showcase event. It's a business thing.
What their racist pig subversive fatherless thug players do to embarrass themselves is beyond the league's control. Allowing this ad to run only brings more attention to those bigoted players and their ignorance. Hurts the league's image.

First paragraph--- yes, correct.

Second one --- not sure what the subject is of "hurts the league's image" (what does?) but there's no image to be hurt in how the marketing division sells its ad time. That's just simple capitalism.

Besides which --- Stupor Bowl ads are DAMN expensive. Why would Hannity's Inanities want a charity to piss away its funding on a TV ad when that money could be going to actual veterans?

Then again it is Sean Hannity, who has a history of scamming veterans' funding drives. And here come his minions lining up to get him to do it AGAIN

The league has to maintain an image in order to remain marketable. The vets ad would only dredge up the negative image of ignorant racist thugs dominating the league. Bad marketing.
