Europe hits a milestone: 120 degrees, highest in European recorded history.

I hate to break it to you but the Mediterranean region is a desert. It gets hot in deserts in summer.
From Wikipeida's article on Southern Europe. Southern Europe is NOT a desert.

Climate

European climate. The Köppen-Geiger climates map is presented by the Climatic Research Unit of the University of East Anglia and the Global Precipitation Climatology Center of the Deutscher Wetterdienst.
Southern Europe's most emblematic climate is the Mediterranean climate, influenced by the large subtropical semi-permanent centre of high atmospheric pressure found, not in the Mediterranean itself, but in the Atlantic Ocean, the Azores High. The Mediterranean climate covers Portugal, Spain, Italy, the southern coast of France, coastal Croatia, coastal Slovenia, southern Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania, and Greece, as well as the Mediterranean islands. Those areas of Mediterranean climate present similar vegetations and landscapes throughout, including dry hills, small plains, pine forests and olive trees.

Cooler climates can be found in certain parts of Southern European countries, for example within the mountain ranges of Spain and Italy. Additionally, the north coast of Spain experiences a wetter Atlantic climate.

Some parts of Southern Europe have humid subtropical climates with warm and wet summers, unlike typical Mediterranean climates. This climate is mainly found in Italy and Croatia around the Adriatic Sea in cities such as Venice and Trieste.

All human history is a blip on a historical scale. The question is why are global temperatures rising as fast as they are and what are the causes.

All human history is a blip on a historical scale.

I agree. Not very many measurements to claim this is unprecedented.

The question is why are global temperatures rising as fast as they are and what are the causes.

Why do you feel this is fast......historically?

“A weather station in Sicily may have set an all-time high temperature record for all of Europe on Wednesday, when the temperature climbed to a scorching 48.8°C (119.8°F) amid a regional heat wave that has shown few signs of relenting.

The big picture: The intense heat wave continues to roast the Mediterranean and northern Africa. The hot and dry weather has played a large role in creating the conditions conducive for explosive and devastating wildfires in Turkey and Greece.”

These are middle eastern or Death Valley temperatures.

Only fools deny anthropogenic climate change.
LOL Fake News story by the way.

The official record for Siracusa Italy was 111 degrees.

Funny how so much fake news can be generated by a Twit on Twatter.

Notice anything strange about the 48.7 reading? It’s surrounding stations are from 41 to 43 degrees.

The official high was 43.8, not “48.7”.

Based on temperatures in the last two thousand years, it is apparent that temperatures are rising rapidly.

You nailed it! The AGW hoaxsters get dumber and dumber every year. Next they'll whine about global warming every time they open their ovens.
Right, a single instance of some idiot calling a record recorded high a "trend" sure is nailing something.

There are some morons who just can’t seem to grasp the concept that there are heat waves and widespread and intense wild fires sweeping Southern Europe and Siberia. Somehow, believe it or not, there are adult dolts who think that all this is a “single instance.”

One can only wonder why anyone would deny anthropogenic climate change.

Where'd they take the temp reading?
An asphalt parking lot?

This is a perfect example of John Law being a science illiterate since that chart is FRAUD!

MWP and LIA were a lot more prominent than this bogus chart which resolution data of course is behind a paywall.

From his link he didn't read.

"The temperature record of the last 2,000 years is reconstructed using data from climate proxy records in conjunction with the modern instrumental temperature record which only covers the last 170 years at a global scale."

Grafting modern annual data onto proxy data that is low resolution (decades or century resolution which isn't mentioned) is criminally stupid!

10 to go!

It's called weather. This is what an interglacial cycle looks like. We are still more than 2C below the peak temperatures of previous interglacial cycles.

:laughing0301:

Now it is a single day WEATHER event that proves global warming. It used to be 30 years trend, then it became 10 years then one year now it is one day..... maybe it will be 30 minutes next?

Arson is the main cause of fires in Greece, the biggest wildfire in California this year was caused by arson too.

You are wrong and silly as usual.

14 to go
You continue to be a liar;
