Fantastic Businessman Trump Loses 55 Year Golf Event To Mexico

The PGA announced they are moving their tour event held at Miami's famed Trump National Doral course for the last 55 years to Mexico City. In 2013, the PGA announced a ten year extension to the Trump National Doral to be held through 2023, but when Cadillac, the sponsor did not renew sponsorship of the event, it was dropped.

Trump National Doral was unable to find a sponsor and criticized the move when Donald Trump said "he hopes they have good kidnapping insurance." Tour moves event from Trump Doral to Mexico
That is absolutely hilarious. Mexico. LOL

The Tour hinted in December that a venue shift was possible shortly after Trump made inflammatory remarks toward Mexicans and immigrants and called for a temporary ban on Muslims from entering the United States.

"We continue to stand by our earlier statement, and the statement of other golf organizations, that Mr. Trump's comments are inconsistent with our strong commitment to an inclusive and welcoming environment in the game of golf," the statement read. "The PGA Tour has had a 53-year commitment to the Doral community, the greater Miami area and the charities that have benefited from the tournament. Given this commitment, we are moving forward with holding the 2016 event at the Blue Monster. Immediately after the completion of the 2016 tournament, we will explore all options regarding the event's future."

It's funny, but the Doral course is amazing.
Ironically, the Miami area is loaded with those of Cuban descent...who are Trump supporters. LOL

You better look at the numbers again, people of color are not known to be fond of racists.
Provide one example of a racist statement made by Trump...
The fact that Trump had the nerve to criticize a politically correct protected class is what really puts a burr on your saddle.

Just about every newspaper in America wrote about him in a racist slant yesterday when he doubled down on Federal Judge Gonzalo Curiel when he called him a Mexican in spite of the fact he was born in Indiana and his father came to American before Donald Trump's own mother came from Scotland.

His attack on a Federal judge is being viewed very harshly by legal scholars and many Republicans have openly slammed him over his view. I don't think we've seen the end of this by a long shot.

he went on auto with " I hope they have good kidnapping insurance" after the change of venue was announced ...

he can't help himself ...

That is a crude way of looking at things. The polling numbers show Trump losing the traditional Conservative vote of South Florida Cubans. There is no one to blame except Donald Trump and the way he has chosen to portray minorities.

It is completely ironic that the Republican party desperately needs minorities to win this election yet put all of their chips in policies that drive them away in hordes.

why is it a crude way of looking at things if its true.
For example, If I am going to be seated in a restaurant, I dont want to be next to the table with the 5 black women. Why? because generally speaking they are loud, to me its obnoxious. But the reality is that its true.
Racist? I dont think so, its based on learned knowledge, from experience.
They certainly have the right to sit there and be loud as they want, yet at the same time I equally have a right not to sit next to them.

We aren't talking about your generalizations, we are talking about Trump and how he has driven down support from minorities.

Your claim that the MSM is not dominated by the progressives is laughable. The rest of your screed is likewise not to be taken seriously.

The MSM is owned by all of five big corporations...how is that "progressive".

The real problem is that the Media gave Trump all this free publicity because listening to him squeal about how Megan Kelly had blood pouring out of her wherever was more interesting than listening to Lindsey Grahmn talk about foreign policy in a level-headed way.

Answer your own question. Who have those politicians bought? Who are the ESTABLISHMENT running? It shouldn't be too hard for you....

"Trump" didn't "lose" the event. A pro-globalism company pulled its sponsorship, and then the PC PGA decided to move to Mexico City, where they can hold the tournament much more cheaply.

It is just pathetic that liberals don't realize that the globalist corporations against whom they have long screamed are all backing Hillary, because they know that Trump would put a halt to these suicidal trade deals that have enriched multinational companies at the expense of middle-class Americans.

In which case it should be easy as pie for you to present something. So far all you do is present hearsay from notoriously biased sources. Not very compelling dude.

I think bad trade deals have been terrible for the working class in this country, but what Trump is proposing isn't going to help.

from what I read the multi year contract provides 100 million dollars and over 9 million in total winnings ... nothing the PGA does is cheap.

The way the Tour generally operates is that they sign a corporate sponsor that pays around 8-13 million dollars to have their name on the event, such as Traveler's Insurance, Cadillac, etc. That money is split between the network covering the event (NBC, CBS), and the organization that puts on the tournament. Usually, this is something like The Thunderbirds in Phoenix, etc.

The network gets guaranteed ads from the sponsor, and the tour usually guarantees about 2/3 of the ad sales. The organization running the tournament usually has about 1,200 volunteers running the tournament. That organization promotes locally, sells tickets, pays most of the prize money, sells concessions, etc. Any money left over goes to local charities. The golf course is paid for the facilities out of the take. The PGA tour makes money off TPC courses they own and run, tv contracts, Other sponsors such as Barclay's Charles Schwab, FedEx, etc. They are a non profit, as are the organizations that put on the tournaments.

Another interesting thing is that Miami Dade Mayor Jimenez? said that Cadillac would sponsor the event, but was not willing to put up the money that the Mexican sponsor would pay, and that the PGA had asked the local Miami Dade government to chip in $6 million in excess of what Cadillac was willing to pay to keep the tournament there. They were not willing to pay the extra, nor was Cadillac, so apparently it boils down to dollars, or pesos in this case.

I first thought it was solely politics, and there may be a political angle, but money talks. The extra may go to the PGA Tour. Some may go to purse. Who knows?
