JK Rowling’s Harry Potter books were burnt on December 30, 2001 at the Christ Community Church at Alamogordo in New Mexico.
The Pastor, Jack Brock, who had not read any of the novels, declared, ‘The books are an abomination to God and me’ and ‘Harry Potter is the devil and is destroying people’.
In 2003 Harry Potter And The Goblet of Fire was consigned to the flames at an evangelical church in Michigan.
