Fascists attack Bloomsbury bokshop

Socialist bookshop in Bloomsbury attacked by 'mask wearing fascists'

A book shop in Bloomsbury was attacked by “mask wearing fascists” who intimidated customers.

According to Bookmarks, a socialist book store in Bloomsbury, the store was targeted by a dozen far right assailants on Saturday.

Bookmarks said the group "attempted to intimidate customers and staff."

Metropolitan Police officers were called to the scene at around 6.35pm to reports of a protest at the store.

"no arrests were made" AND

"Police said an appointment was made for officers to speak to the complainant." THAT is sad and pathetic. But that's the state of law enforcement in ye olde merry Tainaint country.

Let me translate a bit here. "Right wing extremists" in a socialist book store in England are usually EAGLE SCOUTS on a field trip. Or someone wearing a Margaret Thatcher mask..

It is about time someone starts fighting back. This is good news.
Not surprised to find RWrs attacking book stores.

Name another time it has happened in this century.
There is a lot more out there.

Setting The Goblet on fire

JK Rowling’s Harry Potter books were burnt on December 30, 2001 at the Christ Community Church at Alamogordo in New Mexico.
The Pastor, Jack Brock, who had not read any of the novels, declared, ‘The books are an abomination to God and me’ and ‘Harry Potter is the devil and is destroying people’.

In 2003 Harry Potter And The Goblet of Fire was consigned to the flames at an evangelical church in Michigan.

Several Pentecostal and evangelical churches in America have a penchant for book-burning.

Pastor Scott Breedlove of the Jesus Church in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, declared: ‘It is part of our heritage. For centuries Christians have been making bonfires out of books and magazines that offend the sight of God.’

WOw. It's like Kristallnacht.

A few very isolated and insignificant incidences.

All right wing extremists as well.

Funny, when people on the left do something, half the people on the right are using this as evidence of how bad the whole left is. Then they support the same violence when people on the right do it.

My goodness, somebody took a book off the shelf, laughed about it and then replaced it on the shelf

OH THE HORRORS!!!!!!!!

WOw. It's like Kristallnacht.

.

It's worse than that Correll, much worse. It's like Kristallnacht and night of the long knives all rolled into one!

It was absolutely terrifying, watching those middle class people giggling and chanting trump while ignoring all the unwashed store patrons hurling expletives at them.

I don't know if I' even going to be able to sleep tonight, it was so horrific!

And we’ll see more of this in the age of rightwing hate.

Why did you omit the most widespread book burning of all time???

This is a perfect example of the fake news industry in action. We are being led to believe that a group of mask wearing fascists attacked a bookstore, but let's break that down, shall we?

Mask wearing - one person was in a trump mask but you could see the faces of the others quite clearly. The people looked perfectly ordinary and middle class. No jack boots, no Nazi regalia, just a bunch of normal people

Fascist -- the people complained about the antisemitism of the labor party. If they are fascists, they certainly don't have a fucking clue as to what they are doing.

Attack - is giggling an attack? Is taking a book off the shelf and replacing it carefully an attack? Was anybody hit, slapped or spat upon? No, of course not. There no attack at all, just a demonstration. It may have been juvenile, but anybody who claims an attack should have their head examined.

That WAS enjoyable. Not really scary at all. They were trespassing. But it was a peaceful demonstration. And the signs were EXTREMELY specific and reserved. Fascist? Don't think so. Just some folks who care about Civil Liberties disappearing in England. AKA --- Tommy Robinson..

BTW --- have you READ "Whipping Girl" ??? I suspect it's a gripping read. :ack-1:
