FBI Director Says a Judge Accused of Helping Someone Evade Immigration Agents Has Been Arrested

Arrested a sitting judge eh?
This is significant escalation, I think.
Of course, if the judge broke the law...she deserves to be arrested.
If~

The FBI on Friday arrested a Wisconsin county judge accused of helping a man avoid immigration enforcement, Director Kash Patel said.
Patel made the announcement in a post on X and said his office believes Judge Hannah Dugan "intentionally misdirected federal agents away from the subject to be arrested in her courthouse.”
Patel identified the subject as Eduardo Flores Ruiz and said Dugan’s actions allowed Ruiz to evade arrest.
The Justice Department didn't immediately have a comment Friday. A person answering the phone Friday at Dugan’s office said he could not comment. The Associated Press left an email and voicemail Friday morning seeking comment from Milwaukee County Courts Chief Judge Carl Ashley.

The arrest marks an escalation in the Trump administration’s fight with the judiciary over the White House's sweeping immigration enforcement policies. The Justice Department had previously signaled that it was going to crack down on local officials thwarting federal immigration efforts.

Patel made the announcement in an X post, which was quickly deleted. The FBI did not immediately respond to requests for comment on why the post was removed.

Patel wrote that the FBI believes Milwaukee Circuit Court Judge Hannah Dugan “intentionally misdirected federal agents away” from Eduardo Flores Ruiz as agents were attempting to arrest him at her courthouse last week.

“Thankfully our agents chased down the perp on foot and he’s been in custody since, but the Judge’s obstruction created increased danger to the public,” Patel said in the post.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported Tuesday that the FBI was looking into Dugan’s conduct surrounding an attempted arrest by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents at her courthouse on April 18.

So, the initial post....has been removed? Was she really arrested?

Breaking story...much to be learned still~

So what you're saying is that when he broke the law, Trump should also have been arrested. Is that what you're saying?????

Well, yes, of course.
Sadly, Trump's violations were not so cut and dried and like it or not..there is a different standard for a President..former or not.

But yeah..and if he had NOT won the election, he probably would have been sentenced for one thing or another by now.
Those were the stakes he was playing for..and like it or not..and I don't..he won~

How does that work?
  • Can they tell who is an illegal by looking at them?
  • Can they tell who is an illegal by listening for their accent?
  • Can they tell who is an illegal by asking them?
  • What kind of documents must the 'illegals' have (I don't' carry my passport for example) to avoid collection?
ask them,,

fact remains you dont need a warrant to arrest/detain someone in the commission of a crime,,

being here unlawfully is a crime,,

From my above post:

According to a 13-page complaint, Dugan, 65, is accused of obstruction a U.S. agency and concealing an individual to prevent an arrest.

Specifically, the complaint says Dugan assisted Eduardo Flores-Ruiz, a Mexican immigrant, avoid being arrested by federal immigration officials at the Milwaukee County Courthouse after he appeared in her courtroom for a pre-trial conference on April 18. Flores-Ruiz is facing three misdemeanor battery counts.

Two federal agents eventually chased Flores-Ruiz down outside the courthouse and apprehended him at the intersection of West State Street and 10th Street downtown, according to the complaint.

By the looks of it, this is never going to stand up....

ICE were trying to arrest under an Admninsistrative warrant... This is Court house that deals with Judicial Warrents.

History has it that Administrative warrants are not administered in Courthouse because it undermines the judicial process.

ICE tried to distribute a new policy that they can do this... I don't think they got approval fro the Judicial branch and Judges are very unlikely to give too....

The simple question is why has this not happened before? Could be that ICE and Trump are trying to change the common practice that Judges consider law after decades of precedence.

If the judge did as accused, then this is good and legal move.
Administrative warrants haven't been excuted in Courts for Decades...

This is because it undermines the Judicial Process...

This is not getting convicted, she has decades of precedent... This is ICE trying to scare Judges...

Could see a black lash like ICE banned from Courthouses unless in court...

Different is an Administrative Arrest during a Judicial Proceeding...

I don't think any Judge no matter how conservative is going to allow administrative arrest interfere in their proceedings...

Judicial is way more important in law than Administrative...

Knot twisting for illegals
Yep...

But I don't see Judges letting this go...

This is hits Judges to the core, The Court Room is there space...

Seriously wouldn't be surprised if one of the supreme courts picks this up next week...

You don't bully or intimidate Judges...
