As much as I love the no sales tax, I'd gladly pay it if we can get out from under the oppressive thumb of Kate Brown.
Why not just move to Idaho?

You are right, the largely dominant political party in Oregon are the Democrats and as Congress has the final say, and the abysmal left has control of that, the counties suffering under Democrat rule, are stuck. However, as the final say in the matter is really Congress, should Republicans gain control of the House, they might get their wish. California has long had elements that have wanted to separate from the leftist loony domineering government in that state, but in their case, they haven't had enough traction to get it done and under the current administration, it won't happen.Won't happen. Requires approval from the state first, which they'll never get, and then the Congress would have to approve it.
