it's the best answer, by far. subject VOLUNTEER teachers to the same gun and legal training as cops, the same psych evals, and HOW can the anti's object? Just pay them for their extra trouble and gear, and they'll be one the scene, FAR faster than any cops could get there, and they KNOW the students and students know THEM, too.

Kids that come to school to kill people are NOT deterred by some old fart security guard sitting by the door, and a REAL sort of swat team, with exercises to keep them alert, etc, costs millions of $ per year, per school.
