What if the imported beer is of a higher quality? Not to put too fine a point on it. Belgian beers have a tradition that pre-dates the discovery of the New World and have some unique favor profiles. Profiles not matched by your local brewery.
Really? You think so? I have to say that I'm not all that impressed with what I've tasted in the US. Don't get me wrong it's not horrible perse. Except for the lagers which to me have no flavor whatsoever. But in my experience, and I do have experience American beer has some way to go. Especially when it comes to body and complexity.2nd that

Drink Mead.
Mead is often made with local honey and tastes exquisite. Some have called it, "The Drink of the Gods".

What is Belgian Style ale? I've seen that monicker on anything from white beers all the way to the Trappist style beers. Things that are so wide apart flavor wise that they might be different beverages altogether.![]()
belgium style ale brewed in an employee owned, 0 carbon creating brewery based in colorado.
It's perfect. When you make your own, you can control the amount of alcohol in it and flavor it any way you want.my husband loves that stuff.
Some Sam Adams is not all that bad.american commercial beers = piss water.

Relatively inexpensive if you have any apiaries nearby, and you can make it in small batches.
Patience is a requirement, however. To get the best flavors, sis months of conditioning after final fermentation is standard.
Agree. I hate 'em. With a passion.I dont like the dark heavy beers
Never was a big fan of palm myself. My dad drank it a lot though.tastes close enough to amber ale. close to palm ale

Can't say I like any of those that I've tried. Not that I've tried them all that much. Since every time I did they came off tasting flat at the end.true - but i was thinking more along the lines of bud & busch kinda beer.
Anything you can particularly recommend the next time I'm in the States?microbreweries , not the commercial swill fork.....~S~
Nice. That is a great niche for a Meadery. Lots of Meade sold at those faires. I've purchased My fair share at the Pennsylvania and New York Renaissance festivals.i believe he does. there is an annual faire held here in CT
