For the beer lovers.

Anything you can particularly recommend the next time I'm in the States?
well i'm only familiar with micro's in my state fork , that said i would seek them out were ever you may land ....some are so-so, some got it down to a science.....~S~

The Restaurant next door to my Office was owned by a German National. So he served German Food, had German Beer on tap and I got to where I really liked, REALLY LIKED, Erlanger on Tap. Don't think they make it anymore. Highly filtered, blonde beer. Wonderful beer. Strong but it didn't interfere with the taste which made it refreshing.

The Germans can make some Beer. I'll take a Pilsner every time. I know they don't consider Erlanger a Pilsner but I don't care what they think.

It surely knocked me on my butt a time or two. Good stuff, wish it was still around

I always do. Never been blown away by any of them to be honest. Might just be unlucky, because this is by definition anecdotal. And I've come across beers in Belgium that I detested myself. So I can't claim anything we brew is by definition amazing.

True, and I always like it when people engage the premise. In this case the premise is a starting point for a larger discussion.

Do tariffs impact consumers and will it fundamentally "fix the problem". So, can you describe what you see as the problem?
you do know if you buy american you dont pay tariffs,,

my beer is american

I know they sell Leffe in the States, the blond should be comparable, I think.

I like beer and also like Trump's tariffs so if I have to pay a bit more for beer to help fix this country, I will do so.

Yeah, "Maganomics" is working great, if you think a collapsed stock market is a ruin, wait till we get the negative growth report for Q1 which is even before tariffs were imposed, then inflation report, then unemployment repost and so on. You better be prepared for many price hikes, forget about buying tickets for your next demolition derby event 😁

Microbreweries are disappeaaring because.... They're just not that good.

There used to a big brewery down here In Busch Gardens. Budweiser. Might be why they call it 'Busch' Gardens, ya think?

But back in the day, when you could drive up there without wanting to kill yourself or somedoby else before you even got there..... But back then, they'd give you free beer. Fresh Brewed, Right then, right there. You had to stay on the actual Brewery grounds and you were only supposed to have two but you know how that goes :dunno:

Best beer I ever had. It was so good, it was almost 'sweet'.

Wish they hadn't closed the brewery. Busch Gardens doesn't interest me anymore. Back then, I liked it better than Dizzy World. The birds and most of the animals, except for the dangerous ones, were allowed to just roam, no chains (the elephant was chained) no cages, no fences.

Things should improve with age, not vice versa.

We are a small country. So, any brewery we have is almost by definition micro. Although we have some behemoths including the one that owns bud by the way. In a 20-mile radius I have 2 monasteries that brew, one of them a Trappist. You can go there and drink. Although best to be driven home, since these beers are by definition strong. Wonderful experiences though.

Best beer I've ever drunk was in the brewery that made the Straffe Hendrik. Tried all 3 they had on tap (more than once lol) and was out like a light 2 hours later. Seems that having something like 8 beers averaging at 10 percent in a bit over an hour is a bad idea.

I like Crown Royal
I like Lagavulin, Ardbeg, Coal Ila or Laphroaig. Never tried Crown Royal. None of these are for everybody but to me they are a perfect reward for the end of day.

Crown Royal is a good sippin’ whisky

But overpriced IMO

In order to avoid the expected import duties, Huyghe has exported extra beer to the US en masse in recent weeks. "In about ten days, we have exported 32 containers, good for three months of extra stock," says De Laet. As a result, the total local stock now accounts for more than six months. "And all the beer in the containers that leave before April 9 is safe."

Huyghe will eventually absorb the higher import duties "partly with loss of margin, partly with prices". Possible production in the US is not an issue. "We are not going to brew local beer at rates of 20 percent," says De Laet, who does expect an impact on sales.

For those that insist the tariffs won't impact consumers.
Chrysler, Jeep and Ford said they will not increase prices and give America buyers a discount. Toyota says they are not going to increase prices.

A lot of these kids, genx, drink this sweet seltzer alcohol garbage now and they don't like the taste of beer. I'd rather drink sewage water.
