How The South Will Rise To Power Again

What a great article. As it says....liberals and media idiots love making fun of the South. It's the "white male" of regional areas to mock. But while they make fun of the region and it's people....the South has thrived.

- The Souths population is now larger than the Northeast and Midwest COMBINED.
- The Souths economy is booming. Whether it's Boeing or BMW or Volvo or the banking industry....it's all moving here. Right to Work states.
- Forbes says the Souths economy now outpaces the West Coast and Northeast
- The South has lower unemployment than anywhere else in America (you lazy liberals need to get a damn job and grow up)

Not in the link....but America's military has moved South. Texas and Florida host so much of our armor and spec ops forces. Infantry is all over NC, GA and SC. Marines and Rangers are trained there. Our primary C-17 base. America's wars are fought with its roots in the South.

We have the #1 NFL team....the 14-1 Panthers.
We have the #1 college team....the 14-0 Clemson Tigers.

Our women are hotter.
Our food is better.
Our taxes are low.
Our guns are secure.

Yes....morons like Guno are bitter about this. But America's future is the South. You libs...one day you'll all either be Southerners or you'll live a lesser lifestyle.

Well, where do you work? Since you are so concerned with liberals, but not welfare suckers that are GOP voters..

Fuck Forbes. I am not turning off my ad-block to read the article. That is a sad and new feature it seems.

Can anyone give me the abridged version? lol

I work for a company that organizes corporate fitness programs. The gyms in big offices in Atlanta, Charlotte, Raleigh, Miami, etc...that industry.

As Forbes says....The South is America's future. Get on board or get left behind.

I want to visit the south one day in a cool time of year...otherwise way too hot.

Summers are hot. But....probably no hotter than NYC in summer. We have the mountains of TN and NC. They're awesome in summer. And anywhere on the coast the sea breeze counters much of the heat.

It is much more humid that I am used too in California dry air.
I have been in New Orleans for a Superbowl game..Beautiful...

They already lead a lesser lifestyle, unless they're one of the top criminals. And even then....The problem with being the kings of a pile of criminal regime is that even if you're the king, you're surrounded by thugs.

Yes it is humid. Can't argue that haha. Winters here are awesome. You get some good cold weather but not too cold. 30s-50s mostly. Occasionally every winter I get a couple 75 degree beach days.

I don't know about anyone else but we started boxing up the house b/c the Panthers are 15-1!

Where I live I am about three hours from a beach. An hour away from a lake, about two hours away from the mountains. Best place in the world. I also have a free place to stay at all of them!

well, gee, who knew that if you kept jacking taxes on businesses they'd leave to more hospitable places.

who knew that if you kept jacking taxes on people they'd do the same.

I live in Illinois, one of the largest shit-pots in the country and we're looking to gtfo of this state for these same reasons. the property taxes alone are enough to make us want to leave. Our business is taxed out the ass, the governments on all levels are fucking broke and just demanding more, more, more.

I've stopped asking where it all goes. I just don't give a shit any longer. The politicians have fucked this state up beyond repair for at least a generation and the only thing I give 2 shits about is providing a better quality of life for my wife and son. Illinois is not where that is at, as too much goes to the gubmint.

My favorite pastime traveling is photographing the backroads of America. And while many will look for positives there are oh so many negatives. Outsourcing and levels of poverty much higher than in NE America exist everywhere in the South. Paul Theroux recently photographed there and his work is linked below. Any honest view of the south gives a dismal economic picture with I think one exception, old farts like me are retiring there. And it is the weather that moves people there, not taxes.

http://www.nytimes.com/2015/09/20/travel/books-patti-smith-paul-theroux.html

"There will surely be some Southern readers who will be dubious of the views of an “upstart from another country, the cold, iron-dark North.” And someone out there is bound to take offense at the author’s description of one man’s Southern accent as “ponderous, fuddled beyond reason.”

But Mr. Theroux is sincere in his affection for this hardscrabble South, a place of warmth and deep poverty and physical beauty that, he convincingly argues, is as deserving of lavish grants by big-name foundations as a third-world country."

I'm in Charleston. 5 minutes from beach. 3 hours from mountains. Lakes all around. Life is good indeed!

We also have world class food. 3 of Forbes top 100 restaurants are in Charleston.

Come on down man!!! I own a 2016 pickup, 42K. My property tax on the truck is $150 just for perspective.

Plus.....you have to root for the Bears and Illini. Clemson and the Panthers are way better!

Come on down you sound like the type 'yankee' we don't mind having. Please leave any thoughts of 'cultural superiority' and of course socialist politics up north. Judging by your post that shouldn't be an issue :)

Ah yes! I go there a lot! Greenville is one of the Souths best kept secrets. I like it better than Charleston. Such a beautiful and liveable city.

Yes I was born and raised in Greenville. It wasn't always the beauty it is now.
