Where I live I am about three hours from a beach. An hour away from a lake, about two hours away from the mountains. Best place in the world. I also have a free place to stay at all of them!

I'm in Charleston. 5 minutes from beach. 3 hours from mountains. Lakes all around. Life is good indeed!

We also have world class food. 3 of Forbes top 100 restaurants are in Charleston.

I live in Simpsonville a small town in the middle of it all.

Ah yes! I go there a lot! Greenville is one of the Souths best kept secrets. I like it better than Charleston. Such a beautiful and liveable city.

I'm in Newberry County the lower Piedmont. It's so beautiful here. This property has been in my family for generations. Turkey, red tailed hawks, deer...ect. My back yard looks like a postcard.

I live in Illinois, one of the largest shit-pots in the country and we're looking to gtfo of this state for these same reasons. the property taxes alone are enough to make us want to leave. Our business is taxed out the ass, the governments on all levels are fucking broke and just demanding more, more, more.

I've stopped asking where it all goes. I just don't give a shit any longer. The politicians have fucked this state up beyond repair for at least a generation and the only thing I give 2 shits about is providing a better quality of life for my wife and son. Illinois is not where that is at, as too much goes to the gubmint.

Come on down man!!! I own a 2016 pickup, 42K. My property tax on the truck is $150 just for perspective.

Plus.....you have to root for the Bears and Illini. Clemson and the Panthers are way better!

Could happen. We've got a lot of friends in Portland OR, so we're looking there first, but the southeast coast/FLA was on the list also. Love the ocean, love the fishing in particular, as I have a bit of a fishing, errr, 'problem', so that's getting a look also.

And yeah, da Bears are my football team, although I've been less of a fan since it started costing a kidney to go to a game here. Used to be a HUGE fan, but pro sports in general have turned me off with all the whiny gazillionaires lately.....

What a great article. As it says....liberals and media idiots love making fun of the South. It's the "white male" of regional areas to mock. But while they make fun of the region and it's people....the South has thrived.

- The Souths population is now larger than the Northeast and Midwest COMBINED.
- The Souths economy is booming. Whether it's Boeing or BMW or Volvo or the banking industry....it's all moving here. Right to Work states.
- Forbes says the Souths economy now outpaces the West Coast and Northeast
- The South has lower unemployment than anywhere else in America (you lazy liberals need to get a damn job and grow up)

Not in the link....but America's military has moved South. Texas and Florida host so much of our armor and spec ops forces. Infantry is all over NC, GA and SC. Marines and Rangers are trained there. Our primary C-17 base. America's wars are fought with its roots in the South.



We have the #1 NFL team....the 14-1 Panthers.
We have the #1 college team....the 14-0 Clemson Tigers.

Our women are hotter.
Our food is better.
Our taxes are low.
Our guns are secure.

Yes....morons like Guno are bitter about this. But America's future is the South. You libs...one day you'll all either be Southerners or you'll live a lesser lifestyle.

Basically, a lot of liberals are moving to the South making the economies of the South boom. Pretty cool when you think about it. It probably also has a lot to do with hardworking immigrants from other countries (Mexico, etc.).

My grandfather worked building The Lake Murray Dam. It has brought a flood of people here. I finally moved back home where it's still rural. The growth and urban sprawl haven't gotten up here yet and hopefully they won't.

I can see why folks are moving South. No snow to shovel and no 30 below zero.
