Leading theory as to why ice ages come and go is earth wobble. Guess what's missing from every climate model....The sun spots have stopped, quite a few times, this is the sort of thing that leads to a NATURAL cooling. Now, Natural cooling + MAN MADE warming does what?
Absolutely nothing. We are inconsequential when it come to the effects of the sun on the earth. So are volcanoes, wildfires, and cow farts.
Well that depends on what the sun does.
However the point is this. If the Sun goes through normal cycles, then Humans have basically been able to survive within these parameters for long enough to develop to this point. With man-made global warming on top of natural warming, we could potentially push this over the edge. Now, a period of global cooling doesn't mean much if we take it that we can do more damage to the planet, because when it comes back around again, and it will, we're going to push it over the edge.

Above is the 450 thousand years before present. We spend most of our time 4-6 deg C lower than today's temps. The sun goes through these low cycles and cause the ice ages.. Note the rapid declines, happening in 10-30 years... Generally preceded by a peak lasting 20-30 years...
Guess what just happened the last 30 years..
Wobble caused by low geomagnetic bands... This is what happens when the sun goes quiet. Solar Magnetic bands are the weakest ever recorded today.. its like the string on your yo-yo going slack.. everything wobbles..
