The 24-year-old computer science student was flagged as a risk by security officials last year and earlier this year but there was no specific reason to open a judicial investigation, said Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve.

A French security official who was not authorized to publicly release details said the suspect — an Algerian who had lived in France for several years — was arrested Sunday after he apparently shot himself by accident and called for an ambulance. Police who arrived at the scene found a blood trail leading to his car, with loaded guns and notes about potential targets inside.

What this shows...again....is that gun control as people who believe in gun control does not work......France has stricter gun control laws than the United States...and this terrorist had what the French police called an arsenal.....and the only thing that stopped him was him shooting himself.......french gun control did not stop him from getting the guns he had.......

Wherever you find strict gun laws you'll usually find very high crime rate. Banning guns does not deter the criminals. At least one report said he was on a watch list as he had wanted to go to Syria earlier - he is also suspected of murdering his girlfriend I believe. This is another case of not enforcing their own laws and taking these Muslims off the streets - deporting them even -before they can get to this point. They suspected he was dangerous - they should have followed up immediately.

People in France do not feel they need guns, so do not feel deprived. Criminals seem to be equipped with all they need, including r.p.g.s. That's not new, in France or anywhere. That is partly what makes them criminals.

The only reason he was caught is he accidentally shot himself....from the reports on the radio, the French police said if he hadn't shot himself there would have been nothing to stop him......so again......gun control failed in France, the only thing that works is when you catch a criminal using a gun you lock them up, and if you catch a criminal in possession of a gun that they are not allowed to have....you lock them up........

Not a dubious practice in the United States where on average, there are 11.1 million people carrying guns for protection...and each year Americans use guns to stop or prevent violent criminal attack 1.6 million times.........

Believers make up the church - it isn't a building - a building is just a place where people gather to worship, and "have church".... do not get hung up on terminology. Get hung up on Jesus Christ.
