I, too, am an independent and do not vote for the independent candidate since they cannot be elected. I recognize that neither party is perfect in their decision-making process, so I vote for the person and not the party. That person needs to have some moral compass and not a history of
grifting and taking advantage of others.

In all honestly, the last time I voted, It gave me a creepy feeling. Like I was owned and being told I had to vote. As if it was my "duty" to play in their voting scheme.
And the more I thought about it, the more refreshing it felt to not vote. Almost like the feeling I got when I stopped being a party loyalist.
So, I'm thinking I might build on that in the coming elections and just not vote.
Voting for the person over the party sounds good (on paper). But when that same person gets elected and becomes a tool used by lobbyist, then what good was your vote? Considering that like 95% of all federally elected politicians become owned by lobbyist and special interest.
Lobbyist don't care what party you're affiliated with.
