The Republicans learned long ago that, to keep their reactionary base energized required no truly important issue. Focusing on something as simple as a can of Bud Light Beer can be good for months of political fuming by the trump Nazis. Real problems concerning the needs of average Americans are ignored by the trump Nazis and have been by the right-wing nuts for over fifty years.

However, it should not be ignored that moderate Democrats share some of the trump Nazis' characteristics of focusing on the silly diversions thrown at them by their own Party's politicians.

Efforts by the corporate-owned press to keep the attention of voters, from both political parties on "wins by the home team", has permitted the widespread corruption in our government to flourish.

Sadly, this persistent willingness of the U.S. electorate to retain their "voter myopia" is only going to get worse as long as the Baby Boomers control the state and federal legislatures. Bills passing Congress were left mostly unaffected by trump's fascism during his term in the White House. For congressional Republicans and moderate Democrats, it was “business as usual”, serving the economic needs of the billionaires and Big Business.
